Morton Trophy Final for Second Consecutive Year

Congratulations to the Ayr ladies who represented Ayr Curling Club in the third Morton match of the season, at Lockerbie on Wednesday 5th February.
After two earlier matches Ayr had 10 points ( 4 points from two wins against Stranraer and 6 points from three wins against Dumfries). Our teams today were needing 2 points from their match in Lockerbie to ensure Ayr's place in the 2014 Morton Trophy Final at Kirkcaldy.

Teams selected were:
Margaret Agnew (Skip), Sheila Kennedy, Lorna Munro, Katrina Geddes.
Lorraine Shaw (Skip), Alison Cunningham, Morag Evans, Jean Morton.
Gail Thomson (Skip), Catherine McCubbin, Margaret White, Aileen Rennie.

Following a massive team effort Ayr won 2 games out of 3, against stiff opposition, claiming 4 points and 31 shots to 23 shots.

Well done ladies!

Our next step is to book our bus to the Scottish Morton Final at Kirkcaldy on Tuesday, 11th March when we will be competing with the best rink from each region in Scotland to bring the trophy home again to Ayr.

If interested in coming to support our teams in Kirkcaldy, please watch the ladies notice board for details. It promises to be a great day out which is not to be missed!

Thanks to Corrie Lawrence for the above report and for the picture from the bus last year.
