Opening Bonspiel a Great Success

Over 190 curlers and guests took part in the Opening Bonspiel. This took the form of a double celebration, being the 40th Anniversary of Ayr Curling Club's new Ice Rink and the 175th Anniversary of the founding of the Royal Club.
The ice was full for each of the three sessions and each game was followed by a meal and speeches. Passion Caterers, once again, could not be faulted in their provison of an excellent two course meal with coffee.
The club is indebted to our speakers who contributed so much to the day's success, and particularly to South Ayrshire Council Provost Helen Moonie and Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick.
After game 1, Club President Gavin Morton, Club Secretary Davd Smith and Sheila Watson, Past Lady President both of Ayr Curling Club and the RCCC.
After game 2, Lady President Alison Alexander, Royal Club Lady President Fiona Hardie, and Royal Club Lady Vice President Mary Anne McWilliam.
After game 3, Ayrshire Province President Gemmill Jack, Past President Reid Logan and Matt Brown, Past President Ayr CC and RCCC.
We could not have had a better start to the new season.
