Rink Championship Semis and Final

31 January 2014

Tonight saw the two semi finals and final of the Ayr Playdown for the right to go forward to the national finals at Forfar in March.

In the first game Dundonald stormed to a 7 shot lead over Galston. However, Robert Anderson's rink pulled 4 shots back before losing a 2 in the last end to see Dundonald go through 9-4.

The other semi between Crosshill and Gangrels was tight all the way with David Gray's Gangrels rink taking a 2 shot lead in to the final end. However, Bobby Ireland drew his last stone to take the game into a extra end and ultimately Crosshill into the final.

In the final Dundonald and Crosshill traded ones for the first 4 ends before Crosshill took a 3 in the fifth and while Dundonald pulled one back, the Crosshill rink of Ian Whiteford, Alex Connell, Bert Andrew and Bobby Ireland were too strong and now go forward to represent Ayr at Forfar.
