Dunlop Memorial Salver

The final matches in the Dunlop Memorial Salver were played at Greenacres on Wednesday26th March and it went down to the final stone to determine the winners. There were three rinks which were in contention but for the second season in a row the winning rink was skipped by Carlos van Heddegem with Elizabeth Shaw, Mary Shaw and Colin Naismith.   Coming a close second was the rink skipped by David Balmer with Jim Boswell, Chris Clow and Dorothy Moir.  Third was Charlie Steele with Jack McCorkle, Linda Stewart and David MacDonald.

The infamous “Duck” trophy was equally hotly contested but Ed Baines with Moira Drummond,  Jim Jack and Norma Lambie were the unlucky recipients.

The Morton Sportsman’s Trophy was won by Colin Naismith.

The trophies were presented by Margaret Morton who along with Willie did so much to make this competition so enjoyable.

The Dunlop Memorial Salver has run for many years with 12 rinks but, this year, due to a late start in January,  we ran it with only 6 rinks.  It is played at Greenacres on Tuesdays at 12.30pm and hopefully next season we can increase this again so if anyone is interested in playing or as a substitute please contact:
